Student Wellbeing

Wellbeing Importance

We believe that our school plays an important role in promoting the mental health and wellbeing of the members of the St. Christopher’s School Community. We also understand that student wellbeing is central to learning and teaching and plays a major role in student learning outcomes.

Community and Multiculturalism

At St. Christopher’s School, we foster a strong sense of community where every individual is welcomed, respected, and valued. We celebrate the rich diversity of our school community and embrace the unique cultural backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our families. Through a culture of inclusion, respect, and understanding, we encourage students to appreciate and value the differences that strengthen our community.

Safety

At St. Christopher’s School, every student has the right to feel safe, respected, and valued for who they are. We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment where all students can learn and thrive. Clear policies and procedures are in place to prevent and respond to inappropriate behaviour, including bullying, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly, fairly, and effectively.

Team Approach

At St. Christopher’s Primary School, all staff share a collective responsibility for the wellbeing of every student. We value and encourage the support and involvement of parents and guardians as important partners in fostering student wellbeing. Our Student Wellbeing Leaders are supported by our Wellbeing Leader, who work collaboratively to ensure every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Social & Emotional Learning

At St. Christopher’s School, we provide students with a wide range of learning experiences that support the development of positive relationships, social skills, and emotional wellbeing. Our wellbeing initiatives, programs, and interventions are responsive to the evolving needs of our students and the wider school community.

Social and emotional learning is embedded across the curriculum, equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate challenges, build resilience, and engage positively with others. Through targeted wellbeing programs and a proactive approach to student support, we promote positive mental health, emotional resilience, and the overall wellbeing of every student.
