Art Show Recounts
10 November, 2025

Just want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing Maria Mangone! She’s poured so much heart, dedication, and effort into making the Pure Imagination Art Exhibition a fantastic showcase of our students’ creativity here at St. Christopher’s.

Please enjoy the photos and the student recounts of the exhibit on this page. Congrats to everyone involved— the exhibit was something truly spectacular!

When we started art in 2025 we all were very excited. We needed to do lots of amazing art work so that it could be ready for the Art show on 30th of October 2025 . The first one  is ice cream made with oil pastels. It looked incredible. We put a lot of  effort into it and tried our best. But we didn’t just finish in one day because we took our time amazingly. We had to continue next Tuesday because we have art on Tuesdays. After we finished we did  another  artwork.

We also made Donuts but not real donuts. It was fake. We first used a swimming noodle that was cut into small pieces for everyone. Then we got a paintbrush and painted the top of the cut swimming noodle. After that we stamped it on the paper then did it again. Soon the paper was filled with stamped donuts. It looked amazing. After doing everything needed we were finally done with the donuts. They look fantastic.

My favourite artwork was the pancake. It was not real, it was made out of clay. My pancake had chocolate and 3 strawberries. It looked sooooo yum. I felt like eating it but it was not real so I couldn’t. The pancakes did not take so long to be ready for the Art show. I had 3 pancakes stacked together. It was fantastic

We had a lovely wonderful time in Art  making all of these things.  Thank you Miss Mangone. You’ve been  a lovely art teacher. I’m so excited to do more ART!!!!!!

At school every Tuesday my classmates and I have been doing art work. First we coloured and made ice cream.

It took us 1 month to finish it. We had to use a ruler to draw the outside of the ice cream. After we used  a sharpie for the outline, then we had to use a rubber to rub out the grey lid. Next we had to colour it with oil pastel “It looks so good!”.

My class 3/4B made doughnuts. It looked very real. To make it we had to make a draft copy and then we needed to give it to our wonderful Art teacher Miss Mangone. Then we moved on to our good copy. First we took our good copy and made the shadows using grey paint for the doughnuts. Secondly we took a pool noodle with brown paint on it and placed it on top of the shadow so the doughnut is not fully grey. Thirdly we took the pool noodle again and made the icing. After that we used a squeeze bottle with paint on it for our toppings. Then we took the tip of a paint brush and pressed the tip of the brush to the paper to make sprinkels.

The pop tarts that my class made took us 3 weeks to make.

This was our first model magic art work. We first did a draft, my draft for my pop tart was Cristiano Ronaldo. Then we made the base of the pop tart using white model magic clay, but we had to colour it first with a brown marker. After that, I used red and green for my pop tart jersey. Then I used a black piece of model magic to make the number 7 and placed it on the jersey. Right after I did that I made eyes for the pop tart.  “It really looked very nice!”

When I first walked in the Art Show with my family I saw lots of lovely art work. The first thing I did there was take photos and eat. It was very fun because all my friends were there. I think my favourite art work was my pop tarts. I felt very proud of myself   because of my art work. I was amazed by the bubble machine because it was next to the fizzy drink.

Throughout the year, we’ve been making art projects for the Art Show. The Art Show is a time where all the teachers hang your art work around the hall for display with some things you can touch (not eat). Our topic was Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory so it was mainly based on chocolate and candy. Some creations were 2D and some were 3D. We could touch things and even smell things. We used paint, clay and model magic (a sticky dough that turns into form when dry.) We used Spray Paint, (at lunch time for some kids) paper and boxes. We made really small details to make our work look really nice and realistic. Some of the work was so realistic, my sister thought it was real and wanted to eat it.. There was even a bubble machine and a see through tent to blow bubbles in.

We made lots of things, even during lunch. we made Fizzy Lifting Drinks from paper and water colour paint. We used a technique of blending the water colour to make it look like a real drink. We even made a frame to make the drinks glass. We glued straws and colourful bubbles. We made a background from blue paint and blue water colour.

We made donuts from paper, paint, pool noodles and small paint bottle squirt thing. We painted on the pool noodle and stamped it on the paper. And we painted on the stamp to make the icing. We then used the squirt bottle thing for the drizzle. We used the back of the paint brush for sprinkles.

We made ice creams from paper, sharpies, pencil and oil pastels. We drew an ice cream and made designs with the pencil. When we finished, we traced with the sharpie and coloured with the oil pastel.

We also made pancakes and toppings from clay. Some people added strawberries for their toppings and even layered the red paint on the strawberries to make it look real. We also used butter from clay and yellow paint by mixing in the yellow paint with the clay (I also ate a bit of the clay. It was so salty). Some people made chocolate and ice cream to go with their pancakes.

At lunch time, we removed the back wheel from a bike and spray painted it gold. We made Everlasting Gobstoppers and a robot that the Gobstoppers come out of. For the Gobstoppers, we shaped model magic into little cubes for the Gobstoppers. We also made one giant one to go on top of the machine. We also made smellable wall paper from smellable paint and stamps. We stamped the paint and we made smellable wall paper.

This year we have been working very hard in our Art lessons. We have used paint, clay, oil pastels, and even spray paint to create masterpieces. We have created art pieces like donuts, pies that are made out of clay or model magic, and pop tarts. My favourite pieces are the ice creams that we coloured in with oil pastel.

There was a lunch club for boys and girls. The boys made a golden bike, a robot that spits out gobstoppers (that was my idea) and a substance that the bicycle mixes. The girls made a train that holds cupcakes and also while it’s driving.

When I walked into the hall of the art show the first thing I thought was – I loved the door. The reason why I love it so much is because there were purple strings hanging from the top of the door. The first art piece I saw were the preps hot chocolates with marshmallows on top. I was so shocked how good they were. I also really liked the big bubble on the stage where you could walk in and see bubbles. My Mums favourite was the bike.

I really enjoyed the art show. It was so fun. I’m really glad I was there. I went to the playground with my friends and there was also free food. I’m definitely going to the next art show.
