Easter Raffle Invitation
We are excited to invite you to contribute to our school's annual tradition—the Easter Raffle! This event is a highlight at the end of Term One. What is the Easter Raffle? The Easter Raffle is a fun, school-wide event where we collect a variety of chocolate Easter items to assemble into delightful prizes. Each student receives free raffle tickets, giving them a chance to win one of these chocolate-filled baskets during the draw. How Can You Contribute? When you are out shopping, please consider buying a few extra Easter chocolate items—be it chocolate bunnies, eggs, or any other themed treats—and donate them to our school for the raffle. Donation Drop-off: You can bring your chocolate donations to the school's front office or your child can take them to school and put it in the class office basket. We kindly request all donations be delivered by Friday 22nd March allowing us time to prepare the chocolate baskets. Event Day: The raffle will be held on Thursday 28th March at 12:15pm (school hall) and winners will be announced at school. It is an exciting morning for our students for the last day of term.

School Camp
On Monday 4th of March, our students in Years 5/6 left for camp at The Ranch on the Mornington Peninsula. While students primarily participate in outdoor activities, the camp also had a real focus on building self esteem and teamwork. All of the students had a wonderful time and participated enthusiastically. They were very well behaved and great ambassadors for St. Christopher's. Thanks to Mrs De Filippis and Mrs Giblett for organsing the camp and for looking after our students so well. A special thanks to Fr Ralph for visiting and celebrating a mass with our group. Fr Ralph followed mass with a fun singalong. Our 5/6 students will share Camp details at our assembly on Friday.

Ash Wednesday and Shrove Tuesday
Last Wednesday 14 Feb 2024, all students took part in the Ash Wednesday Mass at St Christopher's Church. Each year, Ash Wednesday starts the beginning of Lent and is always 46 days before Easter Sunday. Lent is a 40-day season (not counting Sundays) marked by repentance, fasting, reflection, and ultimately celebration. Fr Ralph spoke to the students about trying to be a better person during this time. Part of this mass involves participants receiving ashes in the shape of a cross on their forehead. This signifies a commitment to trying to be a better person. The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday is known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Tuesday. Traditionally during Lent, Christians would give up rich, tasty foods such as butter, eggs, sugar and fat. Shrove Tuesday was the last chance to eat them. Many people used these food items to make pancakes. Some of our senior students provided each student with a pancake and topping
